Common Questions

Which print method should I choose? +
DTF is the most versatile — it works on any fabric and any color, so if you're unsure, DTF is usually the safest choice. DTG is best for 100% cotton garments and gives a very soft, natural feel. Sublimation is ideal for all-over prints on 100% white or light polyester items like jerseys and blankets.
Can I bring my own shirts or garments? +
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own garments. However, please bring at least one extra item as a sample — machines sometimes need to be calibrated for new fabrics. Please note: Hat Stitch is not responsible for replacing any client-supplied items damaged during the printing process. For the best results, we recommend letting us source your garments — we have access to quality blanks at competitive prices.
Is there a minimum order quantity? +
No minimums on most printing orders! We can print a single custom shirt or a bulk order of 500. Contact us for bulk pricing discounts.
Why won't sublimation work on dark shirts? +
Sublimation ink is transparent — it dyes the fabric rather than sitting on top of it. On dark-colored fabric, the ink color gets absorbed into the dark base and the design becomes invisible. Sublimation only works on white or very light-colored polyester garments where the ink colors can show through clearly.
How long does printing take? +
Most printing orders are completed within 7–10 business days from design approval. Rush orders may be available — contact us to discuss your timeline.
